"Pan Disability Football" – What does this mean?
Our Pan disability football is an inclusive, adapted football environment for children and young adults who may not currently access mainstream football. It is designed for players with learning, neurodivergent, or physical disabilities, who would benefit from adjustments to the pace, structure, communication, or physical demands of the game. A formal diagnosis is not required.
Who is it for?
Our programme is suited to players who may:
- Be new to football or lack confidence in a team setting
- Find mainstream football overwhelming, too fast, or too structured
- Benefit from simplified instruction, repetition, or flexible coaching
- Need more time, space, or reassurance to take part
- Experience challenges with communication, coordination, attention, or social interaction
Our approach
The aim is to help every child take part, feel comfortable, and develop at their own pace, whatever their starting point.
What our pan-disability football is not
Pan-disability sessions are not designed for formats that require specialist equipment or separate competitive pathways.
They are not a replacement for dedicated formats such as blind football, frame football, powerchair football, or other sport-specific disability. We will, however, do our best to signpost clubs that do offer football in these areas.
Further Information
What does my child need to wear?
For the taster session: trainers and any football kit (shorts/t-shirt).
Upon joining MYFC, each player will receive a (returnable) MYFC kit, comprising shirt, shorts, and socks.
What extras do I need to bring?
- A drink.
- Appropriate medical requirements.
- All football equipment is otherwise provided.
How much do the sessions cost?
Please note our disability football sessions are no longer free of charge.
Why?
Following a successful trial period of free sessions last season, we are delighted to have now established a formal U12-16 disability football team as a part of MYFC.
What does this mean?
1. Disabled football players now need to join MYFC.
2. This means they now become MYFC members.
3. The same as every other MYFC player.
4. Therefore, fees to become a MYFC member now apply
Above all, this also means our disability footballers become part of the MYFC community...
Costs and Membership Process
See here. (Note: Waiting lists can apply.)
Why do I have to complete the registration form on this page and then a separate club membership form on another page?
The registration form on this page provides us with more information about the player and their condition than the general MYFC club membership form.
Also, by registering your interest on this page:
1. We can organise a free trial.
2. Everyone can assess whether it is a good fit.
3. We can confirm whether we have available spaces.
4. We can also confirm whether we have the resources to accommodate the condition; e.g., we are not equipped for the use of frames.
We therefore prefer that all players attend at least one training session and speak to the team manager before submitting the club membership application for approval.
Can I leave my child with you?
No.
Coaches cannot accept parental and medical responsibility, including, for example, administering inhalers/epi-pens, etc, while leading club activities.
Is there a Player/Parent Code of Conduct?
Yes.
As with all our teams, there is a Code of Conduct that all players and parents must read and are deemed to have agreed to upon joining MYFC. (Click on the orange button above to view on screen or download).
