1. Amelia Bailey

U10s Angels (Girls) 

Amelia’s infectious enthusiasm and natural leadership at such an early stage in youth football set her apart both on and off the pitch. Whether she's playing on pitch or stepping up as the first to volunteer in goal, Amelia gives 100% every time.  She has worked hard to understand every role on the field and mentors less experienced players on their positioning during games. She also uses her experience from Swindon Town development sessions to support her teammates—always keen to share what she's learned. Amelia’s commitment goes beyond match day; she’s helped the club committee with kit and equipment maintenance and regularly asks to watch and support our sister team, the Marlborough Angels U10 Orange.  Her love for football shines through in everything she does, and her positive attitude lifts everyone around her, no matter the result.

2. Ariana Cripps

U8s Angels (Girls)

Since the very beginning last Spring when we launched our current U8 girls age group, Ariana has always arrived with a huge smile on her face and brightened up every session and match she has played in. Ariana's energy and enthusiasm are infectious, and she always lifts the group and supports and encourages her teammates. She is also a joy to coach, always listening and trying to put into practice what the coaches have been working on. As a result, Ariana has come a long way in a short time and has a very bright future. But it is her wonderful attitude and the positive impact she has on the group as a whole which really make Ariana stand out.

3. Edward Swift

U9s Eagles (Boys/Mixed)

In September, Edward had an operation, which ruled him out from playing football for 3 months. He was devastated. In his eyes, not being able to compete in any sport, especially football, was the worst thing in the world! During his recovery, Edward missed playing football. He was also missing the social aspect by not being around his teammates. But he remained positive and kept asking about how the games were going. We kept him updated with match reports, which he really enjoyed reading! When Edward returned to training, he was so happy to be back playing football and being around his teammates again. Even before his operation, Edward always brought smiles and positivity to training and matches, and this attitude was even stronger upon his return. The other coaches and I have been so impressed with Edward’s resilience and positive attitude. Even if he is not playing, Edward will be on the sidelines supporting his team and will happily play in any position assigned to him, even if it’s not his favourite! We are proud to nominate Edward for the MYFC Player of the Year award.

4. Kiri Williamson

U13s Raiders (Girls)

Kiri thoroughly deserves this nomination. She is really at the heart of the team - always eager at training and matches alike. She is always respectful on and off the pitch with coaches, officials, the opposition, and the players in her team. She is key to many of the Raiders' successes, not just being the leading goal scorer, but mainly due to her humble yet determined attitude. She is hugely popular and respected among her teammates, and her work ethic is evident week in and week out. Well done for a great season, Kiri!

5. Lizzie Worby

U10s Blacks (Girls) 

Lizzie is a bundle of energy and is always enthusiastic in her coaching sessions. She really encourages and motivates others who perhaps aren't feeling up to it and gets the best out of them. Her positive demeanour is very impactful, and she is also a great role model for the others. We are super lucky to have someone like her at Marlborough and I know as a coach I am grateful to be able to count on her in the sessions we run.

6. Zachary Bird

U11s Eagles (Boys/Mixed)

This player in my eyes deserves a mention if not an award as his commitment and encouragement to his team has been outstanding this season, he broke his foot during a game and while he was unable to play he turned up to every training session and every match to support and cheer his team on which all the parents and other coaches was so impressed with, so that’s why I think he deserves the nomination.
